2nd Excel Assignment

So today we did yet another Excel assignment.  We had to create a formulas to determine a letter grade for a given score.  We also had to find the maximum and minimum values for given scores using the built-in max and min functions.  The next thing we did was found the range which was subtracting the min value from the max value.  We then had to format and make the cell worksheet look, in my words, fancy.  I had to upload it to google docs, but the formatting changes didnt occur.  I don't know why, but they didn't.  It might have to deal with the way I saved it.  So then I saved it as 97-2003 format and then uploaded.  The changes stuck.  So I guess you need to save it as a lower version of Excel.  To aid us with this assignment, we used the HELP box to construct an IF statement to calculate the Letter Grade for each final average.  Below is the link to view my assignment online.
Other things we did was colored the tabs.  We also had to calculate a final percentage for each student.  Assignemnts were 25% of the grade, tests were 50% of the grade, and the project was 25% of the grade.  We had to create a formula based upon this information.  A neat tool we used was the "drag handle" which can copy a formula to a new cell.  It saves you from having to type the whole thing in again.  It is pretty cool.  To help spice up the table, we added borders to help organize everything.

The Technology Standard this would go with could be:
2. a.
"design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity."
This excel assignment allows the students to use the built-in tools excel has to create and design formulas to solve equations and find out answers.  The cool part is the student can make up their own formulas and use them for the future.
